Christmas Inspiration 2019
Ok so I accept – slightly begrudgingly – that November is too early to put up the Christmas tree.
BUT it is certainly not too early to start getting organised! Now I know I should be present buying, card writing and ordering the turkey etc etc etc but there’s plenty of time for all that right?! (when will I learn?!) … Sorry but I just can’t concentrate on anything until I’ve planned the decorations! Priorities! Nothing gets me more in the Christmas spirit than filling every nook and cranny of the home with baubles, tinsel (tinsel??) and fairy lights. I even decorate the cloakroom, please don’t judge me! I just love it.
I like to use the decorations we already have rather than buying new each year. Some of our decorations have been passed down from grandparents, everything has a special memory and it’s fun to think of new ways to display them all in our home. So, until its acceptable to unleash Christmas, I’ve been gathering all the inspiration. I’ve planned how the house will be decorated, how the table will be set and how the presents (if ever purchased) will be wrapped. This time next week it will be all systems go!!
I’ve popped some of my favourite inspiration below, I hope you enjoy it.
How gorgeous is this?? Lets just take a moment to appreciate this colour combo. I love how the green foliage looks against the dark walls; it really draws the eye to the vintage baubles in their bright pops of colour, fun yet elegant.

I am all up for introducing pink into the Christmas wrapping … It’s soo pretty and proof that brown paper doesn’t have to be boring.

Imagine having Christmas dinner at THAT table or opening presents around THAT tree. Simply beautiful. I adore the idea of suspending and decorating a branch over the dining table, it almost feels magical and links so elegantly with the garden that can be seen in the background. Ps did you spot the cutie by the door?

I can’t decide what’s cuter … the mini Christmas tree or the two handsome doggos!!

There is always so much inspiration to be found at Cox and Cox … I always steal some of their ideas and recreate the look in our home (shhhhh!) Their products are a lovely quality so perfect for purchasing a few special pieces that will last for years.

Because EVERY bedroom needs a mini Christmas tree! This is a perfect way to add a special touch to guest bedrooms if you have family staying. I love the vintage feel and the pretty white ribbon.

For me, a home (especially at Christmas) should be warm, cosy and inviting. As perfectly demonstrated with this dining space. I love the natural touches and the use of candle light. Did you spot the cute mini tree in the background?!

Real or Faux? I must admit I love a real Christmas tree and this one is a true beauty. Nothing beats the smell of a real tree! I love the elegant styling, it's classic and timeless.

Another brilliant source for inspiration (and special gifts for friends and family) is The White Company. I love having a wander in their shop for ideas … and pointing out a few bits to the husband for my stocking! These Christmas wreathes are a great way to add a festive touch without taking up valuable tabletop space.

Monochrome isn’t normally associated with Christmas but when it looks this stylish its time to break the rules. Proof that foliage and warm white lights are all you need to create all the festive feels.

Oh what’s this? A little reminder of our Christmas decorations from last year - well it would be rude not to sneak a few in wouldn’t it! I’m hoping to write lots of blog posts throughout December, sharing my ideas and Christmas DIY’s … But, well, this might be wishful thinking as Decembers of previous years have passed in a blink of an eye as I rush around trying to complete everything I should have done this month!! I hope you’ve liked the inspiration at least!
